2013

myStore was a forward-thinking grocery app concept developed during my design studies in 2013. The app was designed to integrate directly with a store’s customer ID system, allowing users to build smart grocery lists, track pantry inventory, receive personalized coupon offers, and streamline pickup orders. At the time, this level of predictive shopping and recipe integration was not widely available, making myStore a uniquely ambitious and intuitive solution.

KEY ELEMENTS:

Typography

The app design uses clean, modern sans-serif fonts to ensure readability across screens. Headings are bold and direct, guiding users through each section with clarity. Supporting text is minimal and functional, allowing the interface to remain uncluttered and focused on utility.

Layout

The wireframe and screen designs follow a structured, user-first layout. Navigation flows intuitively from the splash screen to core functions like List, Pantry, Coupons, Recipes, and Settings. Each screen is designed to minimize friction and maximize task completion, with clear icons and logical progression paths.

Visuals

The visual identity of myStore is anchored by a bold, recognizable logo and color-coded navigation icons. Each section of the app is visually distinct yet unified, helping users quickly identify functions while maintaining brand cohesion. The design balances simplicity with personality, making the app feel both helpful and welcoming.

Consistency

Consistency is maintained through uniform iconography, a cohesive color palette, and a repeatable screen structure. Every interaction reinforces the app’s purpose: to simplify grocery shopping through smart, personalized tools. The design language is applied evenly across wireframes and final screens, ensuring a seamless user experience.

Content

Content within the app is functional and user-driven. The Pantry feature uses purchase history to remind users of frequently bought items and suggest when to restock. Recipes can be added manually or shared by friends, with one-click ingredient transfers to the grocery list. Coupons are store-generated and easily applied. Every feature is designed to reduce friction and increase convenience.

OVERVIEW:

myStore was a visionary grocery app concept that anticipated many of the features now common in retail apps. Designed in 2013, it offered predictive grocery list building, pantry tracking based on purchase history, recipe integration, and streamlined pickup ordering — all within a clean, intuitive interface. As lead designer, I created the wireframes, screen designs, and logo using Illustrator, crafting a user experience that was ahead of its time. myStore reflects my early passion for solving real-world problems through thoughtful design and user-centered innovation.
